Bozcaada can only be reached by ferry. Board at the Geyikli pier and you are on the island half an hour later.
There is no bridge, no tunnel and no airport on the island. The only way across is the GESTAŞ ferry from the Geyikli pier. One thing visitors often get wrong: the ferry does not leave from Çanakkale city centre, it departs from Geyikli, a small coastal town in the Ezine district. The crossing takes 35 to 45 minutes depending on the sea, and the line runs every day of the year.
Bozcaada Ferry Times
Ferries run back and forth between Geyikli and Bozcaada throughout the day. In summer and at weekends there are frequent crossings from early morning until late at night, usually close to hourly. On busy days, when vehicles pile up at the pier, extra sailings are added on a fill-and-go basis without waiting for the scheduled time.

In winter the number of crossings drops noticeably, and strong northerly winds can cancel sailings. Ferry Ticket Prices (2026)
All tickets are sold as round trips. The car ticket covers most of the passengers travelling in the vehicle, which makes crossing with the family surprisingly good value per person, and young children travel free. How to Get to Bozcaada from Çanakkale
From Çanakkale city centre it takes about an hour by car to reach the Geyikli pier, driving via Ezine. If you don't have a car, regular minibuses leave from the Çanakkale bus terminal and drop you near the pier. There is no direct sea bus between Çanakkale and Bozcaada in summer 2026, the crossing is only via Geyikli.
How to Get to Bozcaada from Istanbul
The most practical route by car runs through Thrace: pass Tekirdağ and Malkara, cross to the Anatolian side over the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, then follow the Ezine signs to Geyikli. Istanbul to Geyikli takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. With the ferry included, allow around 6 hours door to door. Leave in the morning and you will be on the island by mid afternoon.
If you come by coach, travel to the Çanakkale bus terminal first, then take the Geyikli minibus to the pier. When choosing your coach time, it pays to keep the ferry schedule in mind.
How to Get to Bozcaada from Izmir
Follow the Izmir to Çanakkale road: after Edremit and Küçükkuyu, turn off at the Ezine junction towards Geyikli. The drive takes about 4 hours and is genuinely lovely, with the Kaz Mountains and the Aegean coast for company. By coach, Izmir to Çanakkale services run frequently all day, and you can continue from the terminal with the Geyikli minibus.
From Bursa and Ankara
From Bursa the drive takes about 4 hours, coming through Karacabey and Biga and past Lapseki. Ankara is a longer haul at around 7 hours by car. If you are coming from far away, our advice is to aim for one of the evening ferries. Spend the night on the island and start the day rested.
Should You Bring a Car?
The island is small. The centre is walkable, shuttles run to the beaches in summer, and renting a bicycle is very common. That is why some of our guests leave their car at the car park next to the Geyikli pier and cross on foot. The advantage of bringing a car is the freedom to roam the coves and vineyard roads at your own pace. Around our hotel parking is easy, there is plenty of space by the building.
How to Reach Our Hotel
After getting off the ferry, exit the pier area and follow the main road heading inland. Don't turn into the narrow streets, stay on the main road. At the Gendarmerie junction the road forks. Take the Tuzburnu Road on the left and keep going. After about 100 metres the road makes a clear curve to the left, so follow it, then take the first right immediately after. After 200 metres you'll see Oikos Bozcaada on your right.
