What to See?

The island is small, you won't get lost. The best thing is to let yourself wander the streets.

The stone streets of the Greek Quarter

The Castle

Right by the harbour, magnificent. A museum inside. Go near sunset, the light is beautiful.

The Greek Quarter

Colourful doors, climbing vines, narrow streets. The island's most photographed spot. Wander aimlessly, that's the best of it.

Kimisis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church

In the heart of the Greek Quarter, the island's only church open for worship. Its bell tower is part of the island's silhouette. The interior can only be seen during Sunday services.

Bozcaada Local History Research Centre Museum

A small but heartfelt stop for those curious about the island's past, old photographs and daily life.

The Windmills

On a hill near the town centre. The mouth of the strait is best seen from here. From the Trojan War to the Gallipoli battles, this is probably the spot where wars were watched most clearly through history. The view alone is reason enough.

Polente Lighthouse

The island's westernmost tip. Watch the sunset here, you won't regret it.

Tasting Houses

For wine. The island's soul is here. Details on the "Food & Wine" page.
